The Island
St. Kitts is 23 miles long and 5 miles wide at its widest part. It has an area of 68 square miles. The highest point on St. Kitts is Mt. Liamuiga at 3,792 feet. Hiking tours are available. For an excellent day trip, we highly recommend Leeward Island Charters, for their catamaran excursion (open bar!) to Nevis. Their office is located in town, on the Circus, upstairs next door to Ballahoo Restaurant, (869) 465-7474.
Climate
The average temperature is about 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The annual rainfall averages 55 inches. The humidity is relatively low and constant northeast trade winds keep the islands cool.
